Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Hebrews 4:16

At First Baptist Church we make it a point to be involved with members of our church and community who are in need. Our desire is to bring hope and healing to others in a way that changes lives and meets needs. Our GriefShare program, Barnabas ministry, Community Gardens and helping our local food pantry allows us to care for our neighbors and have an even greater impact within our community.

GRIEFSHARE

SATURDAYS 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. in the Friendship Room

Spring Session: March 7 - June 6*

GriefShare is a 13 week program facilitated by caring people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. You don’t have to go through the grieving process alone. Please email the GriefShare team to learn more.

*GriefShare is canceled due to COVID-19 health concerns.

FOOD PANTRY

We are collecting items for the Reading Food Pantry on an ongoing basis. Items can be placed in the box in the front entrance to the sanctuary. Donations received will be taken over to the Reading Food Pantry. If you wish you may also access the Reading Food Pantry's Amazon Wish List and have items sent directly to them.

BARNABAS

The Barnabas Ministry provides meals, transportation, and support to members of our church family who are in need. Let's serve others in the name of Christ! Email the Office if you need help or would like to help out in this valuable ministry.

COMMUNITY GARDENS

The community gardens at First Baptist Church is a space where people can come together and grow their own food. Ryan Monahan designed and built these garden spaces for us as part of his Eagle Scout project.  As God has blessed us, we would like to bless our community with access to these gardens. We may have a few garden spaces available. Please register and send the form to First Baptist Church to be added to our wait list.
